Thanks to the Universal Records Database (urdb.com), world
records can be within reach of all of us. Basically, if your idea is
measurable and beatable you can create your own category and hold a world
record, even if its just for a few minutes. For example, people
currently hold world records for "the most high-fives during the pledge of
allegiance," "the largest collection of women eating donuts and drinking
coffee while wearing black" and "the longest time taken to dissolve a mint
on your tongue."
Though these records are fun, juggling is underrepresented in the world
record log books.
In this spirit, The Kansas City Juggling Festival will provide you with an
arena in which you can set your record. Hopefully, your world record
idea will be biased towards juggling, but we will help you achieve even
your silliest goals. Start brainstorming now to come up with
something creative.
Kansas City Juggling Festival World Record Officials (KCJFWRO) will be on
hand with timers, measuring tapes, clickers, and everything else needed to
dutifully measure your world record attempts. Video and photo
recording equipment will be used to confirm your results. Official
forms will be provided for you to fill out, and after the festival, the
KCJFWROs will submit your record to the database on your behalf.
If you will need any special equipment for your attempt, please let us
know before the festival date arrives so that we may have it ready for
you. Otherwise, there will be a signup sheet at the registration
table.
Thanks, and good luck!
