The Kansas City Juggling Association is proud to present the annual Kansas City Juggling Festival Main Stage, featuring international, regional, and local performers: a veritable smörgåsbord of mesmerizing circus talent from around the world…right here in Kansas City:

Biz the Clown, Master of Ceremonies

Biz is an authentic American Style Circus Clown. In 1996, Biz began his journey into clowning when he attended the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, later traveling with Ringling Brothers as the circus’s advance clown throughout 1997. He has been a professional performer for more than 15 years, performing as Biz the Clown in his comedy juggling show, working as a stage combat specialist, and acting in local and nationally touring shows.

In both performing and teaching, Biz tries to blend the universal with the American clowning tradition to create shows that are as entertaining to watch as they are to perform. He accomplishes this using traditional theater acting, clowning, or skill routines such as juggling, object manipulation, and diabolo.

Anni Küpper, Headliner

Anni is an award-winning professional juggler and performer. She was born in Bonn, Germany, and started juggling at the age of 14. In 2013, Anni earned a bachelor’s degree from the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in The Netherlands, where she developed a striking juggling style.

Her acts are shaped by conceptual ideas coming from Performance Art and make use of high skills and a charming, authentic stage character. Anni is a versatile performer with solid knowledge of theater, dance, and music.

Tuey Wilson, Comic Stunt Juggler

Tuey’s performance does not easily fit categorization. At one moment the audience is bursting with laughter at his quick wit and hilarious interplay. Moments later they are gasping and applauding, watching a display of skill that is awe inspiring. Whether juggling five rings while standing on top of a ladder, performing his eleven-part combination trick, or using spinning balls to shoot Nerf arrows, Tuey goes well beyond the usual juggling skills to include a wide array of manipulations.

His personality on stage is an unlikely blend of “regular guy” and “quirky oddball,” which means everyone can relate to his charm and humor. Tuey’s show is a perfect blend of family-friendly comedy, jaw-dropping skills, and danger.

Galen Harp, Ice Ball Juggling

Galen grew up in a small town in Northwest Arkansas. Even as a kid, he had a fascination with manipulating objects, whether it was Legos or Pik-Up Stiks. He has spent the last 20 years attempting to redefine what it means to be a juggler. His favorite food is pizza which, sadly, is really difficult to juggle.

At its core, juggling is about taking what you can hold on to and building with it, no matter the difficulty or frustration. This Institute of Jugglology performance focuses on that moment when you could give up, but you don’t. You learn the confidence to enjoy your mistakes and the restraint to maintain your successes.

Norsefyre, Aerial Arts

Norsefyre is a fire arts troop that has branched our into a wide variety of skills, including aerial arts, juggling, fire spinning, and Viking-like war-drums and weaponry. They love to incorporate sensory overload into their shows, with energetic — bordering on frenetic — performances that incorporate impressive aerial maneuvers.
